Oliver’s Garden Bird Toys

We are located in Chester, Nova Scotia, Canada where we enjoy the pleasures of a rugged Atlantic Ocean coastline, miles of untouched forests and a smattering of coastal towns and villages rich in traditional folk art culture.

The inspiration for our toys is very much influenced by the fishing and lumber industries of Lunenburg and surrounding counties.

We have our own small flock of birds including Oliver, our Congo African Grey, Sassy, our Red-sided Eclectus, Fagan the Quaker and a small group of lovebirds.

Your bird’s safety and enjoyment come first at Oliver’s Garden. Toys are introduced to our birds or our extended family of toy testers and checked for safety, fun and durability.

We believe we use only the safest parts available including:

• 100% cotton rope which is hand dyed with FDA approved dyes
• All softwood parts are our own designs. We manufacture our own pine parts from wood that is grown and milled locally. We like that!
• Stainless steel rods
• Nickel plated hardware which can be changed to all stainless steel (email for info).
  No zinc parts anywhere, ever!
• Natural woods are harvested on site or from trusted sources. These woods including willow, dogwood, magnolia, apple, and birch are seasoned, cleaned and finally baked to ensure the best product for your bird.

Although we do our utmost to produce safe toys please supervise your birds and inspect toys on a regular basis for wear. Look for and clip loose threads regularly and replace toys that are worn.
